Part of the UNDP’s “Sustainable Communities” programme, aims to improve healthcare services and quality of life for communities in the Ararat, Armavir, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn regions of Armenia.
From 2022 to 2023, this initiative supported eight medical care facilities, benefiting approximately 37,000 community members. The Shahumyan and Nalbandyan Outpatient Clinics in the Armavir region received renovations, new furnishings, and air-conditioning units. The Voskevaz Outpatient Clinic in Aragatsotn was renovated with heating system enhancements, while the Nerkin Bazmaberd Outpatient Clinic is installing a solar water heater for hot water access.
In the Kotayk region, the Nor Hachn Polyclinic improved its heating system and installed solar panels, and the Meghradzor Outpatient Clinic was renovated and furnished. Renovation, furnishing, and solar panel installations are ongoing at the Argel and Tsaghkadzor Outpatient Clinics.
These projects, achieved through collaboration between the UNDP, regional authorities, and local municipalities, demonstrate the significant improvements possible when organizations and communities work together. Enhanced healthcare facilities now offer better service provision and elevated care standards, greatly benefiting the regions involved.
