Water Heaters

Water Heaters

The installation of modern solar water heaters is a vital initiative aimed at improving the quality of life and promoting sustainability in communities. These heaters provide consistent access to hot water and heating, which is essential for daily living, hygiene, and overall well-being.

In 2023, the UNDP “Sustainable Communities” programme implemented a project to equip homes and educational facilities in various regions with solar water heaters. In the Vardenis consolidated community of the Gegharkunik region, 55 houses in the settlements of Sotk and Kut received these heaters, ensuring residents have reliable hot water and heating, even in subzero temperatures. This initiative addresses household difficulties and ensures access to hot water regardless of weather conditions.

The project also extended its benefits to 13 educational facilities, including schools and kindergartens across multiple regions. By installing solar water heaters in these institutions, the project secured hot water access for kitchens and restrooms, creating a more hygienic environment. This enhancement promotes good health and improves the overall learning experience for pupils and staff.
