Reconstruction works at Building 53 on Zeytun Street in Vanadzor are progressing actively. At this stage, the partition walls and internal dividers separating the building into 25 individual apartments have been fully completed. The next phase will include replacing the old windows with new ones.
The renovated social housing facility has already been visited several times by Armenia’s Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Arsen Torosyan, who reviewed the progress of the works on site. This is the first social housing complex being developed through close cooperation between UNDP and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
As a result of the reconstruction, the building will provide 25 new apartments, offering comfortable living conditions for future residents. Each apartment will have its own separate entrance, dining area, kitchen, and bathroom. As the project approaches completion, solar photovoltaic systems will also be installed on the roof as an energy-efficient and environmentally friendly solution, providing a reliable source of green energy.
This important initiative is being implemented within the framework of the “Refugee Response: Resilience for All through Livelihood Support” project, funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad), and the Government of Cyprus.
