Honey-Money

Beneficiaries of the “Honey-Money” project, implemented under UNDP’s “Sustainable Communities” programme, have received the beehives and beekeeping equipment предусмотрed by the project. Three-day training sessions were organized for refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh residing in the Kotayk, Ararat, and Armavir regions. The project was implemented with financial support from the Government of France within the framework of decentralized cooperation.

At the end of the training, based on exam results and needs assessment, selected participants were provided with modern beehives and sets of beekeeping equipment.

Within the framework of the project, participants were supported in starting or developing their own beekeeping businesses. In the Kotayk region, 83 beneficiaries received 184 beehives and 83 sets of beekeeping tools, including a smoker, knife, scraper, beekeeping gloves, hat, and jacket (16 beneficiaries also received an electric knife).

A total of 200 people participated in the initiative implemented with the financial support of the Government of France, 55 of whom were women. During the intensive three-day training sessions, participants studied the fundamentals of modern beekeeping.
