The next phase of support under the “NEXUS Kapan 2” project, aimed at developing greenhouse farming, has been implemented in Kapan community, Syunik region.

As part of the project, 15 beneficiaries received modern 300-square-metre greenhouses, providing them with an opportunity to generate sustainable income. Participants are also receiving ongoing professional and advisory support to help them organise their activities effectively and become more competitive in the market.

During the first phase of the project, a two-day training on crop cultivation in greenhouse conditions was organised, with 45 applicants participating. Experts then visited the participants’ farms to assess the feasibility of greenhouse installation and the participants’ preparedness. Based on the assessment, 27 selected participants took part in an entrepreneurship and business development training, during which they developed their own business models and proposals. In the next stage, the participants presented their business ideas to an expert jury.

The greenhouses were provided to 15 beneficiaries from Kapan community, including Kapan city and the nearby settlements of Okhtar, Achanan, Syunik, Norashenik, Arajadzor, Vanek and Artsvanik.

Beneficiaries were also provided with installation guidelines, lists of required materials, and greenhouse installation manuals in Armenian and English to facilitate the launch of their activities. In the next phase, seedlings and seeds will also be provided to help beneficiaries start their greenhouse production.
