The results of the UNDP “Sustainable Communities” programme’s “Fruitful Garden” initiative in Syunik region have been summarized. A total of 132 residents took part in the trainings held in the communities of Sisian, Goris, Kapan, and Meghri (28 from Sisian, 22 from Goris, 50 from Kapan, and 32 from Meghri).

In the first part of the training, participants learned about all stages of fruit production. During the practical part, they visited one of the community gardens to learn how to properly care for trees. At the end of the course, all 132 participants passed an exam. Those who achieved the best results will soon receive tools and equipment for gardening.

The “Fruitful Garden” initiative under the UNDP “Sustainable Communities” programme aims to develop the skills of local residents involved in fruit growing. The project helps communities create sustainable sources of income, improve food security, and support rural families in becoming more self-reliant in Syunik region.
