The following is the English translation: — Another training session under the “Fruitful Garden” initiative was held in the Kapan community of Syunik region. The two-day training took place in Kapan on May 30–31 and brought together participants from the settlements of Artsvanik, Chakaten, Syunik, Verin Tagh, Kapan, Achanan, Davit Bek, Nerqin Hand, Aznak, Geghanush, Tsav, Yeghvard, Agarak, Norashenik, Khdrants, Chapni, Antarashat, Tandzaver, and Okhtar. A total of 50 participants, who had filled out the application form, took part in the training. The first course, which included both theoretical and practical components, covered all stages of the fruit production cycle. The practical part was conducted in one of the orchards in Kapan.
The “Fruitful Garden” initiative of UNDP’s “Sustainable Communities” programme is aimed at enhancing the skills and capacities of residents engaged in horticulture. The programme seeks to empower communities by creating sustainable livelihoods, improving food security, and promoting self-sufficiency among rural populations by increasing the knowledge, skills, and capacities of residents in Armenia’s Syunik region.
Participants of the training also received the manual “Fundamentals of Horticulture: A Practical Guide.”
