The UNDP Sustainable Communities programme announced training courses of HONEY-MONEY and Chir-Chir projects in Shikahogh, Srashen, and Chakaten settlements of the Kapan community in the Syunik region in 2024. All participants of the trainings received certificates from UNDP.
In September, the HONEY-MONEY projects organized a two-day Professional Development of Beekeepers course, which culminated in an exam for the 19 participants.
“We are implementing the HONEY-MONEY project for the second time in different settlements of the Kapan community, and the results this time are even more satisfactory. All 19 participants successfully passed the exam and will each receive two beehives made of PPU material ahead of the season,” noted Lusine Balayan, UNDP expert.
In October, a Basics of Beekeeping course was conducted in the same settlements of the Kapan community. Of the 20 participants, 14 successfully passed the exam and will each be provided with five dried fruit drying racks in preparation for the season.
