The UNDP Sustainable Communities programme with the financial support from the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund has provided 5 solar water heaters to the Vanadzor Medical Center. Previously, the hospital’s surgical areas relied on a centralized hot water system that limited availability. With the installation of these new solar water heaters, each with a capacity of 360 liters, the center now has 24-hour access to hot water.
Reliable access to hot water is essential for maintaining high standards of hygiene and sterilization, which reduces the risk of infections. It also supports various medical procedures that require hot water, enhancing the overall efficiency and quality of care provided by the medical center.
