ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The UNDP Sustainable Communities program aims to promote social and economic development in communities by supporting the long-term resilience of local populations and improving their overall quality of life. By enhancing infrastructure in key sectors such as energy conservation, health, and education, the program seeks to create self-sufficient communities while minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable economic growth.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The “Solar 24 – 100 Water Heaters” project, launched as part of the Sustainable Communities program, aims to improve the living and working conditions in public buildings (such as administrative buildings, schools, kindergartens, community centers, cultural centers, libraries, and other facilities under the jurisdiction of regional or municipal authorities). The project provides continuous access to hot water through solar-powered water heaters. Representatives of public institutions or communities can apply to receive a solar water heater, which will improve their working or educational environment by ensuring consistent access to hot water, promoting energy savings, and supporting the development of sustainable infrastructure.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Improvement of Working Conditions: Enhance the comfort and efficiency of public buildings by ensuring continuous access to hot water, creating a better environment for staff, students, and other users. Promotion of Green Energy Solutions: Encourage the use of energy-efficient water heaters to promote environmental sustainability.
