The Honey-Money beekeeping programme summarizes its results

Honey-Money

The UNDP “Sustainable Communities” programme’s “HONEY-MONEY” initiative successfully completed another phase of its three-day training courses for refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh living in the Kotayk, Ararat, and Armavir regions. The programme was implemented with the financial support of the Government of France within the framework of “Decentralized Cooperation.”

Due to an unprecedented number of applications and in order to organize the training process more effectively, two separate three-day training sessions were conducted.

In total, 200 people from all three regions participated in the training, 55 of whom were women.

From Kotayk region, 83 participants attended the training, 66 from Ararat, and 51 from Armavir.

During the intensive three-day courses, participants studied the subject “Fundamentals of Beekeeping,” acquiring the necessary knowledge to run a modern beekeeping farm.

At the end of the training, participants received certificates and took an exam. Based on the results and a needs assessment, beneficiaries will be selected to receive modern PPU Dadant-type beehives, beekeeping equipment and tools, and bee colonies ahead of the beekeeping season.
