The official opening ceremony of Yervand Nazaryan’s “Sweet House,” a honey product enterprise, took place in the village of Malishka. The event was attended by Anna Gyurjyan, UNDP’s Socio-Economic Development portfolio manager, Ekaterina Ivanova, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Arman Valesyan, “Sustainable Communities” programme manager, Arsen Khachatryan, Deputy Governor of Vayots Dzor, Garik Nazaryan, Head of the Malishka administrative unit, and other distinguished guests.

Following the ribbon-cutting, guests toured the “Sweet House” production facility, familiarized themselves with the honey production process, and observed the efficiency of the modern equipment provided by UNDP in action. Through the programme, Yervand received professional-grade tools, equipment, and machinery for beekeeping and honey production, which enabled him to expand production volumes, create a new product line, and generate employment opportunities. He also participated in the “Honey-Money” initiative, receiving professional training and consulting.

After the tour, guests sampled the locally produced honey, explored different flavor combinations, and enjoyed sweets made with honey. The “Sweet House” initiative of UNDP’s “Sustainable Communities” programme was launched in 2022 to support small businesses in rural areas, particularly in the field of confectionery production based on honey, fruits, and vegetables.
