HONEY-MONEY beekeeping development project comes to SYUNIK region

The “HONEY-MONEY” program of UNDP “Sustainable Communities” is conducting a two-day training course “Professional Development of Beekeepers” for Nagorno-Karabakh refugees settled in Syunik Marz, who are engaged in beekeeping. After completing the course, all participants will receive certificates and pass an exam. Based on the results, UNDP will provide a binary hive made of PP material.


Eligibility

The project is open to individuals who:

– Are aged 18-65 (only one person per family)

– Became refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh in 2020 or 2023 and live in the Syunik region

– Have past and/or current experience in beekeeping

– Have a suitable area for beekeeping

– Commit to installing a beehive within the period specified by the contract, with 5 frames in each beehive covered with bees

– Are ready to implement the mandatory conditions presented by UNDP for running the apiary economy


Persons who are not eligible

– Non-refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh

– Refugees who participated in the previous round of the “Honey-Money” project and are already beneficiaries

To participate, you must apply by July 29.

 Step 2: Submit Application and Documents

Print and fill out the application by hand, attaching the mandatory required documents.


List of Mandatory Required Documents:

– Application (downloadable at the bottom of the announcement or available at the local municipality hall or administrative head’s residence)

– Copies of the passport and registration data pages of the passport or identification card

– Certificate confirming the place of residence and refugee status


Note: The package of required documents must be handed over to the trainer on the first day of the course. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Beekeepers who do not fully participate in the 2-day course will not be considered by the Program.


Venue and Dates

For refugees settled in Kapan, Kajaran, and Meghri communities:

– Location: Hall of the 2nd floor of the House of Culture of Kapan (RA, Syunik marz, Kapan, Charents str., 2nd building)

– Dates: July 30 and 31, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


For refugees settled in Sisian, Goris, Tegh, and Tatev communities:

– Location: Large hall of the Hamo Sahyan House of Culture in Sisian (RA, Syunik Marz, Sisian, Sisakan St., 41a)

– Dates: August 5 and 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
