The United Nations Development Programme’s “Sustainable Communities” programme is implementing the “Nexus Kapan 2: Expansion of the Greenhouse Entrepreneurship Cluster” initiative, which aims to develop the greenhouse cluster established in the Kapan community and strengthen economic linkages between rural settlements and urban markets.

Within the framework of the programme, up to 30 participants will be selected to undergo professional and business training. Among them, up to 17 of the most prepared, experienced, and motivated participants will have the opportunity, through co-financing, to establish modern 300 sq.m. greenhouses as sustainable income-generating businesses. Participants will receive continuous professional and advisory support to help them effectively manage their operations and become competitive in the market.

The programme is open to individuals who permanently reside in rural settlements within a 15 km radius of Kapan city, as well as in the villages along the Syunik–Achanan axis.

Preference will be given to candidates who:

• have practical experience in greenhouse farming and/or agriculture, as well as experience and/or skills in business management,
• have an appropriate land plot (approximately 400–450 sq.m.), located in a flat, lowland area with good sunlight exposure,
• have access to necessary utilities (water, electricity, gas),
• are ready to provide co-financing for the installation of the greenhouse, irrigation, electricity, and heating systems, as well as for business registration and cluster cooperation.
